We are excited to invite you to our Candy Cane Swim Lanes, happening on Sunday, December 15, starting at 9:00 AM! This festive mini meet is a wonderful opportunity for all swimmers to enjoy friendly competition, celebrate the holiday season, and have fun in the pool.

Event Details:
What: Candy Cane Swim Lanes
When: Sunday, December 15, starting at 9:00 AM
Who: Open to all Cowichan Breakers swimmers

Races:

• All four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) for Development and up, Pre-Breakers will swim only 2 strokes

• Distances include 25-meter or 50-meter sprints

• For our Pre-Breaker 2 swimmers, races will be limited to 25-meter distances, with the support of an older co-swimmer to guide and encourage them. This ensures even our youngest swimmers can join the fun in a supportive and confidence-building environment.

We’ll also be hosting a Family Swim from 10:00–11:00 AM, where swimmers and their families can enjoy relaxed pool time together. All swimmers must be accompanied by an adult during the Family Swim. Families wishing to stay past 11:00 AM will need to pay for additional entry at the front desk.

After the meet, we’ll celebrate with hot chocolate and a small treat, and every swimmer will receive a medal to commemorate their participation!

Pre-Breaker Sessions

Pre-Breaker 1 & 2 sessions will run as normal, with some modifications for those PB's who do not want to or cannot participate will still swim their normal session times if they choose to, but we will still have a treat for them as well!

Volunteers Needed!

To make this event a success, we’ll need volunteer timers. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to time races, especially for those interested in helping during our summer sessions. No prior experience is necessary—we’ll provide guidance on the day of the event.

Hello to all swim families who participated in the 2023/2024 Winter and Summer Sessions,

We are excited to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024. During this event, we will elect our board members for the 2024/2025 year. If you are interested in a board position, please plan to attend.

The AGM will start at 5 pm at Bright Angel Park, in the lower picnic shelter. Please bring camp chairs or blankets to sit on, as well as your own dinner. We will provide drinks and dessert. All family members are welcome to join us.

In addition to the AGM and elections, we will hold an awards ceremony to celebrate our summer swimmers.

Breakers 2024 Agenda

Hello CV Breakers Families,

With our 2024 summer swim session underway and our Icebreaker Swim Meet set to kick off the competition season in just two weeks, we warmly invite you to meet your swimmers' coaches!

When and Where:

Tuesday, May 21st at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre, in the party room in the lobby.

Schedule:

• 6:15-7:00 PM: Intermediate and Senior Coaches Lily Heugh and Lucy Heugh

• 7:00-7:45 PM: Development and Junior Coaches Jessica de Verteuil and Iyshana Dusanj

Our coaches will share valuable information about the summer season and what to expect in the coming weeks and months.

Our President and other board members will also be available to answer any non-coaching, non-swimming related questions you may have about our club and the upcoming season.

Light refreshments will be provided. We strongly encourage you to attend.
